Most applicants test by spring of the year they apply, leaving time for a retake if needed.

Applications open
AMCAS (MD) and AACOMAS (DO) open, and you can begin entering your application.

Submit early
Many schools review on a rolling basis, so submitting early in the cycle matters.

Schools send school-specific essays. Turning them around quickly keeps you competitive.
